It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
Each time I write that sentence I sing it in my head. December is the month where I wish I could sing more than ever.
For the holiday season, I’m combining both my November Wellness Haul and Winter Favorites.
There are so many things to love about these months that I just couldn’t pick what to write about.
In November, I purchased a wonderful trio of items to share with you.
I found this Fitness Diary at Marshall’s. Unfortunately I can’t share a link with you because they don’t sell anything online. However, I love the idea of this fitness journal.
It’s a not a food and calorie tracker like you might think. It is actually more of a mental journal. It asks you to write 3 things you are grateful for and something you love about your body. I truly believe those are things we all need to acknowledge more often.
It also gives you an inspirational quote each day to help motivate you, and gives you space to evaluate your day. If you’ve never tried anything like this I would highly recommend it. It helps bring your goals back into focus each day.
EOS Pomegranate Raspberry Lip Balm ($3.99): This is my new favorite lip balm. I had tried EOS lip balm before in the spheres, but decided to try something new and go with the sticks. Definitely not disappointed.
I love anything pomegranate, and this balm actually helps soothes my lips, as opposed to just pretending to, like some lip balms do. Plus, this is one of the only one’s I haven’t lost yet! I keep one in my jacket and one in my book bag so I’m always prepared.
Yankee Candle Sugared Apple Tea Lights ($9.99): My niece was doing a fundraiser for her class so I ordered some of these little tea lights. These are such a good scent if you’re one of those people who isn’t in love with the super sugary scents. It’s light enough that everyone can enjoy it.
I love the little candles because you can place them all around and it just feels so magical. If you can’t burn candles, they make the wax melt version, too!
With only 1 day until christmas I am so excited and can really feel all the holiday spirit!
I had two holiday parties to celebrate the day before break! I am so happy to finally have a little time off from school.
We had a gingerbread house decorating contest, had a “snowball” fight, and exchanged gifts with friends.
My secret Santa absolutely nailed it with a festive coloring book, candy cane Chapstick, and a mug filled with Lindt truffles!
My friends from my Early College High School also gave me absolutely wonderful gifts! I got this beautiful sparkly jar filled with candy, another mini coloring book, fuzzy socks (love!) and a homemade candle!
My one friend also made me some of his famous brownies which I am absolutely obsessed with! (Honestly, the best things I have ever tasted.)
Last but not least, I am absolutely in love with anything that has someone’s handwriting. The fact that someone took their time to write something for me is truly amazing. One of my friends in our “Bucks Clan” (as we call ourselves) gave me a card that made me both laugh and cry.
I am so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life.
I just picked up yesterday the absolute BEST pajamas at Kohl’s. They’re Croft & Barrow® Knit Notch Collar PJ Set. I got them on sale in Red Dot. They are so soft and so comfortable. (I’m wearing them as I type this)
I’ve tried pajamas like these before but the buttons and waistbands always bothered me. I have no problems at all with these. I’ve decided I’m going to get a new pair of pajamas every year for Christmas Eve! Thanks to the best pajamas ever!
I also found my favorite winter coat this season! I love the parka trend, and picked up a slate gray one for myself. If you follow me on Insta you probably saw me wearing it in this pic at Dunkin (where else? lol). You can find similar ones in almost any store. I got mine at Target. So comfy and so warm. It’s the first winter jacket I’ve ever liked.
My favorite scent of the season, no contest, has to be Gingerbread Latte from Bath and Body Works. I never liked lotion until I found it in this scent. I use it every day now on my hands and it’s honestly so relaxing. Finding the right lotion can honestly make your day so much better.
I loved it so much I bought the body cream and the foaming soap for my bathroom, too! It’s going to be hard to convince myself to stay away from it once winter is over, if I even have any lotion left.
Like almost everyone, I really do enjoy Christmas music, but it can be tiring listening to the same songs over and over again. Plus, honestly, sometimes I’m just not in the mood for it, especially when the weather decides to be 50 degrees.
As an alternative, I like to put on 30s, 40s, and 50s swing. It sounds fairly similar to Christmas music and gives you that old-time, homey feel.
You can find a good mix here:
THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT
If I didn’t have all those things to love this winter I definitely wouldn’t be without.
There’s no better atmosphere than the one on Christmas day. I’ve never seen a happier family than mine when we are all at my aunt’s house eating, talking, and laughing about who has to eat the fruitcake in order to get their gift.
If you have family near you that you get to spend time with, make sure to tell them you love them this Christmas. The same goes with friends.
As my acceptance letters come in I’m starting to realize these may be the last times I see some of the people I care about.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday no matter what you celebrate!
